This sprawling property on the Willamette River looked great on the outside, complete with boat dock and extensive gardens, but was in definite need of an interior update. The layout was already designed with the river views in mind, with everything oriented towards the big windows that covered the back walls of the house so the focus was on selecting the right materials that could bring this space up to date.

Eilers Way shows that, sometimes, the bones of a house are solid and the layout is right, however a fresh interior update can do wonders. This sprawling riverfront home just needed a little refresh to make it shine.

EILERS WAY REMODEL

A riverfront property receives a needed refresh.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

New flooring, light fixtures, faucets and backsplashes were selected after test driving them in the existing kitchen layout using Photoshop. The kitchen cabinets and other case goods were all painted and the ceiling beams were wrapped in rustic wood. A faux finish was used on the fireplace stone and wood to lighten them up.

Downstairs, we completely remade the bar area and updated the carpet and bathrooms. Because this was a real estate flip, stagers were consulted to bring in the type of furniture that complimented the new space. We asked Jewel Harwoods to display their gorgeous live edge furniture pieces in the dining room, study and living room, which were real showstoppers.
The house already had great views and lots of light, so we looked for ways we could freshen up outdated styles and fixtures in the kitchen and lighten up the dense built-ins and fireplace in the living room.
